Visit the city
Vitoria is a charming city with an exceptional cultural heritage, numerous green zones and an exceptional quality of life.
To talk about Vitoria is to talk about about the capital of the Basque Country and the location of Ajuria Enea, the seat of the regional Basque Government. A welcoming city of 250.000 people with an exceptional standard of living and infrasctructures that make it into an attractive and comfortable place to visit. We at VTC Spain, with our private hire vehicle service, are ready to help you with your transfers around the city as well as its surroundings, which include both the region called "Rioja Alavesa" and the rest of the Basque Country, with such renowned cities as Bilbao and San Sebastián.
From a touristic point of view, a must-do activity in Vitoria is a visit through the historic center, which dates from the Middle Ages and includes the cathedral of Santa María, as well as the old city walls. We can also go to the Virgen Blanca Square and take a selfie at the vegetable scuplture showing the name of the city. Another popular activity is eating: as in any basque city, restaurants are excellent, and we can also try the traditional "pintxos" in any of the many outlets of the town center.
When it comes to visiting the surroundings, one of the most attractive options is wine tourism. Vitoria is located in the so-called "Rioja Alavesa", a region with excellent winemakers that we'll be able to visit to taste their products. We cannot forget the rest of the Basque Country either: Bilbao and San Sebastián are barely an hour and half away and linked through an excellent network of highways. With VTC Spain and our cars with driver, a day trip to enjoy either of these cities and come back is a very tempting and realistic posibility.
And if we talk about professional activities, Vitoria has excellent facilities for any conference or event. The Europa Congress Palace is a modern venue prepared with all kinds of spaces, and the city is linked though railways and highways to Madrid and the rest of the country. We mustn't forget the Foronda airport, one of the most important cargo and logistic centers in Spain.
And finally, we should also mention the different international events that take place in Vitoria every year and turn it into a internationally-known city. Vitoria is the base of Baskonia, an Euroleague-level basketball team, and hosted this competition's Final Four in 2019. Also, the Vitoria Jazz Festival has made itself through the last decades into a prestigious event for all music lovers.
