Cíes Islands
One of the most beautiful places in Galicia, the Cíes Islands National Park is a mandatory visit for any tourist. Ferries to the islands depart from the Vigo port during the summer season.
Vigo is the largest city in Galicia as well as its industrial capital, with a dynamic economy and good communications with nearby towns that are excelent places to spend a day of tourism. VTC Spain and its private hire vehicle service can help you with your transfers all around Vigo and the Rías Baixas region.
Vigo's economy is based in the car industry and the maritime sector. The PSA Group has in Vigo its main car factory in Spain, while its shipyards and auxiliary industries build ships for customers all around the world. The fishing industry also has a huge importance, and the port of Vigo hosts traffic both from fishing boats and from cargo and passenger transport services, receiving luxury cruise ships from international companies. All of that results in a city with a modern economy that hosts all kinds of professional events, trade fairs and congresses. Infraestructures such as IFEVI (Instituto Ferial de Vigo) and its trade show facilities are prepared to offer all the service needed for an event.
But Vigo isn't just a city for work, but also for tourism. At the entrance of the Vigo estuary we find the Cíes islands, one of the most beautiful places in Galicia, and the perfect place for a summer day trip. A few kilometers away we also find Sanxenxo, the town with most "blue flag" awarded beaches in Spain, and one of the preferred tourism destinations in Galicia. Other nearby towns like A Guarda, Baiona, Tui, O Grove and Mondariz are also ideal places for a day trip. Among these towns we must highlight Nigrán and its long beaches, excellent for practising surf.
As for transportation, Vigo is a well connected city in all regards. The international airport of Peinador has regular flights to Madrid and Barcelona, and the RENFE train stations of Urzáiz and Guixar link the city with the rest of Spain and Portugal. Finally, as it's been mentioned, the port is regularly visited by trasatlantic ships from international cruise companies. Remember that VTC Spain provides you with private hire vehicle services, picking you up at the airport, rail station or port and taking you to your hotel or whatever place you desire.
